[ET Net News Agency, 18 March 2026] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$108.98
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$14.65 billion, or 13.44% of the market's
turnover. There were 785 short-selling stocks. XIAOMI-W (01810) and BABA-W (09988) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.11 billion and HK$835.44 million, or
7.57% and 5.7% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
47.22% and 22.84% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and CSOP HS TECH (03033) registered HK$721.69 million and HK$621.92
million of short sales, accounting for 4.93% and 4.24% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 14.11% and 29.87% of respective stock's
turnover.
XIAOMI-W closed down HK$0.54, or 1.53%, to HK$34.82. BABA-W ended down HK$1.1, or 0.82%,
to HK$133.5. TENCENT fell HK$5, or 0.91% to HK$545. CSOP HS TECH declined by HK$0.044, or
0.88%, to HK$4.954.
