There were 805 short-selling stocks. XIAOMI-W (01810) and TRACKER FUND (02800) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.16 billion and HK$1.61 billion, or 12.16% and 9.05% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 41.43% and 20.65% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W (09988) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$920.14 million and HK$683.68 million of short sales, accounting for 5.18% and 3.85% of the total short sales values respectively. The transactions represented 16.47% and 9.92% of respective stock's turnover.
XIAOMI-W closed up HK$2.54, or 8.75%, to HK$31.56. TRACKER FUND ended up HK$0.46, or 1.78%, to HK$26.36. BABA-W rose HK$7.1, or 5.63% to HK$133.1. TENCENT jumped HK$8, or 1.71%, to HK$475.8.
